This Christmas Veggie Tray Snowman is easy enough for kids to make, and too cute to resist. It’s the perfect simple appetizer for holiday parties!
CHRISTMAS VEGGIE TRAY SNOWMAN KIDS CAN MAKE
To make this Christmas veggie tray snowman easy enough for my kids to put together, I decided to use three white bowls to hold the “snowball” ingredients.
It works out great because the kids can just fill the bottom two bowls with cauliflower and mushrooms, rather than trying to pile them in a circle pattern.
Even my one year old can handle that!
Sigh. I love those cute little baby fingers. She’s very proud of her “pitty” fingernails, even though most of it has chipped off.
Once you’ve got the body of your Christmas veggie tray snowman built, it’s time to start filling the platter around him.
You can really use whatever vegetables you want for the platter around your snowman. I went with sugar snap peas, carrots, and cherry tomatoes because it required NO chopping or slicing.
Just make sure to put down a couple of celery stick arms before you do your carrots or cherry tomatoes so that you can fill them in around the arms.
The final step is to add a face and buttons. If you have young kids like mine, you may need to do this step for them. Corban was SO excited when I put the olive slice eyes on and shouted, “Mama, we should use a carrot for his nose!”
SERVING YOUR CHRISTMAS VEGGIE TRAY SNOWMAN
If you’re bringing your Christmas veggie tray snowman to a party, just slice the olives and carrot and put the on the side to transport. You can assemble the face and buttons once you get there.
You could even wait to assemble the whole snowman veggie tray until you’re at the party. The only thing to slice is the mushrooms, olives, and carrot nose. So slice those in advance and it should take just five minutes or so to assemble the snowman when you arrive.
For the dip, we simply poured a bottle of Ranch dressing into the bowl.
You can really use any white dip or dressing you’d like. Maybe tzatziki sauce, or a fancy herb dip mix, or even mix up Ranch dressing mix with sour cream or Greek Yogurt for a thicker and creamier dip.
Whatever dip you go with, make sure you have some extra on hand just in case. Kids go CRAZY for this stuff!
I think Larkin might need her own dip bowl!
